What about »beewee« ..?
I started to use this nickname back in 1996, at about the same time like my self-employment. It was not my top priority to compare with the hardworking insect, in fact my intention was the onomatopoeic version of my initials: Bernd Wendorf.
I used the abbreviation »bw« before, working as a print journalist. And in those days, when the World Wide Web was still an US-centric insider hype, it seems to me pretty cool to use the english spoken version: »beewee«.
